THE AUTHOR OF INFÂME
MATTHEW MATSUMOTO
Composer. Creator. Aspiring cult leader.
Los Angeles–born and aesthetically committed to the bit, Matthew Matsumoto grew up in a house where The Phantom of the Opera wasn’t just admired, it was a full religion. (There is a literal shrine to said Opera Ghost.)
He began composing in high school and spent years as a performing musician, releasing four albums under different projects and playing notable venues like the House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe, and Hotel Cafe. He has albums produced by prolific artists such as Mike Shapiro (Justin Timberlake) and Andres Torres (Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato). He also performed in a pop duo named one of Music Connection Magazine’s Top 100 Artists.
INFÂME is his first full-length musical and his first full takeover: music, lyrics, and libretto, all written by him, because... obviously. His work lives where queer pop spectacle collides with emotional confession, where club beats meet cathedral guilt, and where beauty is treated not as decoration, but as a belief system.
